BERLIN, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- The newest mark set by striker Florian Wirtz might not draw excessive international attention, but the Leverkusen upstart became the German national league youngest player to score 10 goals before turning 19 (18 years/145 days).

Much more than his virginal beginning as a goal-scorer, international football clubs investigate the youngster's rapid development on his way to football's very top.

Liverpool's manager Juergen Klopp and his coaching staff seem convinced that Wirtz is the Bundesliga's next big issue.

The youngest A-team player in Leverkusen's history delivers a scorer-point every 37 minutes, which makes him the league's most efficient footballer.

This season he's responsible for eight scorer-points in only six games. Against Mainz, he secured his side's 1-0 victory.

Many already speak of his career approaching a world-class level step by step. Others compare the 18-year-old with his predecessor Kai Havertz.

Havertz not only left for assumedly 100 million euros but turned into the Blues' man of the match in the 2021 Champions League final against the Citizens scoring the winning goal.

More important for Wirtz, the highflyers' departure created space because Leverkusen didn't sign a replacement, but relied on Wirtz as his successor.

His clubs' trust seems to have encouraged the gifted talent as he not only slipped into the role of a game decider delivering goals and assists.

Wirtz is mentioned as a vital force among the range of German talents shaping the national team's performance in the future.

The country's new national coach Hansi Flick appointed the 2021 under-21 European Champion for the A-team. The 2020 treble winner is continuously praising his player's potential.

Leverkusen's managing director Rudi Voeller is meanwhile used to receiving offers from top European clubs but always refers to the talent's contract valid until 2026.

The official and former German international is insisting, Wirtz' contract has no exit clause.

Father and agent Hans Wirtz claimed the player is not interested in departing over the next two years as his mind and body need time to adjust and develop in a familiar environment.

Wirtz, 1993 Champions League winner (Marseille) Voeller is sure, is on his way to make a similar career as Havertz.

"Flo can perfectly deal with compliments as Kai could. They not only have outstanding skills, but a clear and smart mind," 1990 World Champion Voeller says.

He and Wirtz's father agree when it comes to the youngster's future. Currently, it's not yet the right time to do the next step and join one of the leading clubs in Europe.

At the same time, the duo does not make a secret out of the fact, Florian Wirtz is going to leave in a foreseeable timeframe.

Liverpool and other top European clubs already confirmed, they will continue to keep an eye on the newest Leverkusen gemstone. Enditem
