The Guoxin 1 mobile fish farm, in a global first, delivered its first harvest on Thursday.
The harvest, of 65 tons of large yellow croakers, was raised in the deep sea 185 kilometers offshore.
The fish farm vessel has a displacement of 130,000 tons, large enough to survive typhoons, and is able to harvest 3,700 tons of fish annually, according to the China State Shipbuilding Corporation Limited (CSSC).
